Joe Wood didn’t start out wanting to own one of Central Oklahoma’s most dependable machine shops.
Early on, he just knew he loved machining. He loved making things. From the age of 18 and for the next 20 years, Joe perfected his craft, operating a wide variety of CNC machines to create precision products for the oilfield and beyond. After a brief stint selling ready-made tools and equipment for the oil and gas industry, Joe wanted to return to the machine shop. But this time, it would be his shop. As an owner, Joe not only gets to work with the milling and turning machines he knows so well, but he also gets to collaborate with customers to find creative solutions to the challenges they face.

“I love to solve problems to help our customers and partners succeed,” Wood said. “When we can take a piece of raw material and turn it into a beautiful, finished product that addresses the precise need of one of our customers, that’s what really motivates me.”
Since then Joe and the team at Pro Force have manufactured a wide range of products, sometimes starting from completed plans and at other times collaborating with customers to design just the right prototype. “Pro Force Machining customers are large and small companies from a variety of industries,” he explained. “We manufacture some parts with that have a simple design and a low price tag and others that are complex and quite expensive.
“Over the years, I’ve been able to experience a lot of new products,” Wood continued. “I love to build something innovative that solves a real problem or captures a real opportunity.”
Every product Pro Force Machining produces must also meet the highest standards of quality. According to Wood, “We don’t try to compete with low-quality, low-cost foreign vendors. What we offer instead is a promise: We will always be honest and transparent about our capabilities, prices and timelines. When we commit to a delivery date, we will meet it. And finally, we will create the highest quality products using the most efficient processes possible.”
With so much to love, what’s the one thing Joe Wood doesn’t like about running a machine shop? “I hate to say no,” he explained. “I love to solve problems and to fix things – so I hate saying no to any project. That means we’re going to do everything we can to figure out a solution to every customer need.”
